Select a part from the drawer, then tap its socket. You can also drag parts onto sockets or use Tab and Enter.
Activate & listen
Follow the power from the left-hand bus, through the meshing gears and belt, into the cam and striking arm.
Adjust & harmonize
Listen to the target without seeing its gears. Swap your gears while playing; the resonance meter gives a visual clue. More than one arrangement can solve the puzzle.

How the relationships work

A 24-tooth driver turns a 12-tooth gear twice as fast, in the opposite direction. A 16-tooth gear turns 3:2 as fast.

This game maps that speed ratio to tuning: root frequency × gear ratio. Real gear teeth do not retune a bell. Cams determine the number of strikes per revolution.

Five reusable gears, two cams, and five sound-making objects make up the drawer. Tension is welcome in the free third voice and in the open workshop.
